Feil - od od nazwy zawodu Feil ‘sprzedawca metalowych narzędzi’, zob. R. und V. Kohlheim, Familiennamen. Herkunft und Bedeutung, Mannheim-Leipzig-Wien-Zürich 2005 s. 238. Potencjalnie też od niemieckiego apelatywu feil 1. ‘zły, błędny, niepoprawny’, 2. ‘fiołek’, 3. ‘rodzaj okrycia’, także przezwisko kogoś je noszącego.

Thank you for the information on Feil and Olejko it was my gut feeling that Feil was a more German nationality than Polish, but could you tell me which nationality Olejko is?

No Olejko is my grandmother's maiden name on my father's side of the family. Feil is my great great great grandmother's maiden name on my mother's side of the family.My mother mother's maiden name was Szajer which I believe was Poliskized from the German.
