Witam szukam moich pradziadków na strony ojca.Pierwsza nazwa jest Kanul lub ewentualnie Kanue z nazwiska Pietrzyk, który byłby świetny grandfather.The prababcia ma imię Leonory i nazwisko panieńskie Harungalska. Nie jestem zbyt pewny początków nazwiska, ale dziadek stwierdził na akcie małżeństwa, że był Rosjaninem. Mój dziadek urodził się w Polsce, w miasteczku o nazwie Liw, w roku 1887.He ożenił się w Filadelfii w 1916 roku do "rosyjski" dziewczyną o imieniu Amelia Olejko. I znalazł akt małżeństwa jej rodziców w Lublinie, a dla rodziców pana młodego stwierdził, że były martwe w momencie jego małżeństwa. Czy jest jakaś osoba, która może mi pomóc w znalezieniu wszelkie informacje dotyczące moich pradziadków na strony ojca? Dziękujemy z wyprzedzeniem. I'm not too sure of the origins names, but the grandfather said on the marriage certificate that he was a Russian. My grandfather was born in Poland, in a town called Liw, in the year 1887.He married in Philadelphia in 1916 for the "Russian" girl named Amelia Olejko. And he found her parents' marriage certificate in Lublin, and the groom's parents said they were dead at the time of his marriage. W indeksach na stronie lubgens jest wiele wpisów z nazwiskiem Olejko i Pietrzyk, podaj jednak więcej konkretów - dat, imion z zaznaczeniem kto jest czyim synem/córką, i nazw miejscowości. Pradziadek to.......... urodził się........... , ożenił się w ............... i tak dalej. Rozumiem, że pradziadek to K....Pietrzyk ale jak na imię miał dziadek urodzony w Liw w roku 1887? Jeżeli masz konkretne metryki dodaj skan lub zdjęcie, bo czegoś takiego jak Kanul/Kanue wśród imion nie ma, może uda się odczytać.

Thank you for your input.I have looked for my grandfather Jacenty in the Geneteka site to no avail and this is part of my problem.The other part is that even if I do find a name that might be a match I am blocked/not authorized to access the scan.I am encluding a scan of my grandparent's marriage certificate but there is no mention of Jacenty being born in Liw only Russia.I got the birth place from my mother and I also know,through her,that Jacenty had a sister but I don't know her name. Jacek Pietrzyk died 25 May 1963 in Węgrów (record #68/1963). He was 76 years old.

Thank you for the information.At least now I have some spelling of the names that make more sense than what was on the marriage certificate.I am familiar with the partition of Poland since my parents have told me about it.What I was wondering did you see any listing of the great grandparent's death.According to the marriage certificate they died sometime before Jacenty was married in 1916.Also my mother mentioned that Jacenty had a sister unfortunately she doesn't know the name so maybe there is a listing of a sibling which I could add to the family tree.Thank you so much for the information that you have already have found it truly is a great find. Bea I am a little confused by the data that you show for the marriage of Felix and Aleksandra. I had a person translate the document file that you listed,since I couldn't find it, and he came up with" son of late

Mrs. Balbina born Kodym " so you can see why I could be confused.Could Felix have been born after the death of his father Anthony and given the family name of Pietrzyk? If so then what about the other siblings? I would have to assume that the siblings born after him would be considered half brothers and sisters. Thank you for finding all of the siblings which is more than I was expecting.I think that I answered my own questions.

Antoni Pietrzyk and Balbina Kodym married in 1849.

Feliks Kamil Pietrzyk was born in 1857 (1st Feb) in Liw.

Antoni died in 1863 and later Balbina remarried to Aleksander Matusik.

With all the different names that I have floating in my head I apparently mixed up the relationships. It was Felix that married Eleonora who are the parents and Antoni and Balbina were the grandparents. So the remarriage of the grandparents is really not relevant to the grandson's family name since it is the father that is giving the family name.
